THE PREZ SEZ.....
Greetings fellow club members, I hope you all had an enjoyable Thanksgiving Holiday and got your fill of stuffing (most popular side dish), mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, apple & pumpkin pies, turkey and ham. I hope you also got out to ride off the overload. Well, the leaves are falling and it's getting colder, time to bring out the winter gear to keep on riding. I don’t know about you, but when winter comes, I like to spend more time on my gravel and mountain bikes. It doesn’t seem as cold when you’re riding because you aren’t riding as fast in gravel or dirt, so the wind chill isn’t as bad. Plus, they are more casual and just fun rides. Not that road riding isn’t satisfying, it’s just a nice change of pace.
Annual Christmas Party
Our annual Christmas party will be held on Sunday Dec 14th at the Clovis Senior Center, the same venue as last year. Doors open at 5 pm - 9 pm. Registration is open with the cost of the evening is $25 per person. There will be past events: T-shirts and jerseys available to purchase. There are 100 tickets available. Please register early so we can determine how many meals to order. https://fresnocycling.com/event-6453426
Step Up and Shape Our Club’s Future!
Dear fellow riders,
As someone who’s enjoyed countless miles and memories with this club, having served in Leadership for 14 years, I know first hand how much our community means to each of us. Our club is built on the energy and commitment of its members. Serving on the Board of Directors is a fantastic way to make a difference—not just for yourself, but for everyone who rides with us. We need a broad spectrum of helpers to keep our club vibrant, inclusive, and fun. The majority of our members are over 50 and we need to find ways to include our young generations to play an active roll in the growth of our club.
Why is your participation so important?
- Diverse Leadership: A variety of voices on the Board ensures our club reflects all members’ interests and ideas.
- Shared Responsibility: More volunteers and ride leaders mean less work for each person and a stronger, more sustainable club.
- Fresh Perspectives: New faces bring new ideas, helping us improve events and grow our membership.
Ways to Get Involved:
- Volunteer at Events: Help with planning, setup, registration, or support. Every bit of help counts!
- Lead a Ride: Share your favorite routes and help others enjoy safe, fun cycling.
- Serve on the Board: Open positions include Membership Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, Ride Leader Coordinator, and more. Board members receive free membership, dinner at Board meetings, and one free event registration per year.
Ready to help? If you’re interested in volunteering or leading a ride, email president@fresnocycling.com. Your involvement makes a real difference—let’s keep our club rolling strong together!
Call to Action:
Let’s make this club the best it can be—together. Don’t wait—step up today! Whether you’re ready to serve on the Board, lead a ride, or help at an event, your participation is vital. I can’t wait to see what we accomplish as a team! Step Up and Shape Our Club’s Future!
That’s all I have for now, let’s make this coming new year one of the greatest we have ever had.
See you on the road, on the gravel or in the dirt. Hope to see you at the Christmas Party. As always, ride safe and ride legal. Cheers,
The Prez
Dennis Ball
