Tollhouse Century-95 Miles/7,500

Wildcat to Sierra Elementary
Upon leaving the Wildcat Rest Stop, Century riders will continue straight on Maxon Road for an 8 mile out and back to a turnaround in front of the Trimmer Work Center station. They will then turn right on Watts Valley Rd. and continue up Burrough Valley to the Sierra School rest stop.
Terrain:  Hilly, very scenic along Maxon Rd.
Traffic:  Light
Caution:  Wildcat descent in narrow and twisty, Maxon Rd. is narrow with cattle guards, cattle, and you know what else.

Sierra Elementary to Tollhouse Water Stop
The fun begins! Starting with a 7-mile climb up the OLD TOLLHOUSE GRADE, this climb starts off steep, gets a little easier, and then just grinds on forever. Pitches up to 13%. Between gasps for breath, try to spot rock climbers on the granite outcroppings above.
Traffic:  very light
Caution:  Narrow road with blind corners.  STAY in your lane, SINGLE FILE

Tollhouse Water Stop to Bald Mountain Fire Dept Lunch Stop
The last ½ mile from the water stop to HWY 168 is STEEP. Century riders will cross over the highway and continue a gentle climb then descend to the Bald Mountain Fire Department lunch stop. Look over your right shoulder along this stretch to catch glimpses of the high Sierra and the San Joaquin River water shed. Please do not go to Shaver Lake for lunch.

Bald Mountain Fire Dept Lunch Stop to Millerton Store Rest Stop
After lunch, you will descend through scenic forests before making the long descent into Auberry. (WATCH THE CORNERS!) After traveling through this quaint foothill town, you will rejoin the metric riders enroute to the Millerton Store before finishing in Clovis.
Terrain:  Hilly, mostly descending with some rollers along the way.
Traffic:  Moderate to heavy, especially the short stretch along Hwy. 168 before Prather
Caution:  Watch the hairpin turns on the descent after lunch. Be sure exit Hwy. 168 in Prather by staying right, heading towards Millerton Lake

Millerton Store Rest Stop to Clovis High
Popsicles and cold towels await riders at the Lymphoma and Leukemia sponsored rest stop at the Millerton Store. More rollers await riders but the path to the finish is mostly downhill, sometimes with a tailwind, more often with a headwind. Fresno County recently completed a bike lane along Auberry Rd. so riders won’t be in the same lane as the motor homes and trucks hauling boats. Follow the signs and arrows for a fast trip back to Alta Sierra Middle School.

Terrain: Rollers, mostly a gentle downhill until Crybaby Hill and the Friant-Kern canal
Traffic: Moderate to heavy but riders will enjoy the newly constructed bike lane.
Caution: Follow the route sheet and course marking, ride single file, and stay right.
